THE TWILIGHT ZONE Revisited: Music Tribute

"I consider THE TWILIGHT ZONE to be the best television series of its era. Being one of those lucky viewers able to watch it week after week, I encountered many thrills and surprises during the five seasons from 1959 to 1964. Not every episode was great, but for the most part, this was a series that made you think and kept you enthralled with its outstanding writing, acting and music scores. I also have an indirect connection to Rod Serling, having lived not far away from where he grew up in Binghamton, New York, though I lived there years after he did. I also received my Master's Degree from Binghamton University in ethnomusicology and began my study of film music while there." -- taken from the web-site

San Antonio Current Book Review:  Tripping through the ‘Twilight Zone’ by Rick Klaw

Excerpt:  On October 2, 1959, Rod Serling introduced his seminal anthology TV series The Twilight Zone to an unsuspecting viewing public. Unlike the plethora of similar shows conceived in that era (Tales of Tomorrow, One Step Beyond, and several others), Serling’s blend of quality production and social awareness cemented the series firmly in the public consciousness. Frequently shown in reruns since its 1964 demise, The Twilight Zone long ago achieved iconic status, becoming part of the pop-culture zeitgeist. Our Lady of the Lake University professor Douglas Brode, along with Serling’s widow, Carol, offers a unique retrospective of the revered show in Rod Serling and the Twilight Zone: The Official 50th Anniversary Tribute (Barricade Books., $24.95).

Sci-Fi Channel: The Twilight Zone

One of television's most rightly revered series, The Twilight Zone (CBS, 1959-64) stands as the role model for TV anthologies. Its trenchant sci-fi/fantasy parables explore humanity's hopes, despairs, prides and prejudices in metaphoric ways conventional drama cannot.
